You Make Me So HOT!

Being in California, and being with our Vietnamese friends, I learned about this awesome sauce.

A bottle of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce was the one thing that I made sure we brought back home to the Philippines! Good thing, I grabbed one at WalMart! HAHAHA.

Perfect for any fried dish, or even for dishes with some soup! Trust me on this one!

Appetizing, will leave you wanting more, and without a doubt, spicy to the highest level.

Make every meal one HOT experience. ;)

Certified 90's Kid!

Who else remembers eating CHOCOLATE GOLD COINS when they were kids???

I know I do! HAHA. One of the cheapest, funnest, and best kiddie chocolate any 90's kid has eaten! Growing up, I remember so much fond memories in the playground with my friends, afternoon naps at the house, and even moments of kiddie drama whenever I eat on gold coin!

Wrapped in that shiny gold foil, I used to pretend that they were real money and that I was rich as hell if I had about 3-5 pieces of gold coins. And at the end of my play time, I always open them up and pop them into my mouth for that chocolate sugar rush!

Sooo, when my supervisor offered me some last Tuesday afternoon, I did not hesitate to take them! HAHAHA. I super missed this!

Now I miss being a kid! ;)

Classics with a Kick.

One of my mom's fave, and also one of the best Filipino-style dishes.

For lunch, I had a bowl of Max's Restaurant's healthy Tofu con Lechon Kawali. Deep fried slices of tofu with crispy fried pork, served with diced green peppers, carrots, and onions in a light soy sauce-vinegar dressing.

It's healthy, satisfying, and all-Filipino!

The Most Challenging Delicacy!

Eat one whole piece and try to blow or whistle at the same time.

This is probably the funniest and the most challenging game that I've known since I was a kid. One of the best childhood memories! HAHA.

Presenting, Goldilock's Polvoron! It is a soft, crumbly, and heavy Spanish shortbread made with milk, flour, sugar, and nuts. Since it is so packed, one piece is definitely more than a mouthful! HAHAHA.

Super yummy, super fun to eat, and a favorite Filipino delicacy!

Froyo Should Be Eaten with a Golden Spoon!

Monday! And it's finally my day-off. HAHA.

Still, I had to go run a work-related errand during the day. But no matter, I had finished it before lunch, and I had time to eat with my mom at SM.

Before I went home, we stopped by Golden Spoon to get me some froyo. Naturally, I chose the Belgian Chocolate flavor! Lol.

A cupful of gluten-free Belgian Chocolate frozen yogurt was definitely the highlight of my day. Everything is better with chocolate, indeed. HAHA.

Love!

Cebuano Mangoes!

It's Sunday. And I just got home from work. And an overtime at that.

I had changed my day-off from Sunday to Monday for this week to finish up on two projects in the office. Well, it's not yet done, but at least it has made a significant progress. HAHA.

Anyway, when I got home, I could smell the sweet scent of ripe mangoes from our dining table. And luckily, I found some chilled mangoes in our ref! Yey!

Nothing beats the natural sweetness of ripe mangoes, especially when they're chilled! ;)

Corn Corn Cornick!

One of my favorite childhood snacks, everytime we go to our province, Ilocos Sur.

Presenting, Namnama's Garlic-flavored Chichacorn! Bought and made from Vigan. Authentic taste of crispy and crunchy cornick to make your day a happy day! HAHAHA.

Munch, crunch, love!

Pomelo Lovin'

I've been reducing my junk food intake.

And whenever I get hungry during the afternoon or at mid-morning, instead of eating a bag of chips, I reach in our refrigerator and grab one pomelo wedge.

It's juicy, healthy, low-calorie, and makes a good snack! Not only can it satisfy your hunger, it also cools you down from this unbelievable summer heat.

Cheers to fruits and diet! ;)

Doughnuts Just Got Krazier!

Fresh from the Mall of Asia Krispy Kreme branch.

Fun Day Fundae Sundae!

I know it's not yet the weekend. But I wanted to indulge tonight, anyway. HAHA.

On our way to the airport to pick up my tita from her vacation, we stopped by Mcdonalds which was conveniently near a 7-Eleven. I wanted to have some ice cream, but unfortunately, Mcdonalds only had "melty" ice cream. Lol. No way I'm eating that! HAHAHA.

Sooo, I went in 7-Eleven and got myself the very cheap, but VERY BIG Chocolate Fundae Cone! Yey! One big sugar cone with a tall chocolate soft ice cream swirl.

Chocogasm errbody! ;)

Chick Chick Chicken!

Lunch hour from work again!

Still sitting here at Cobo, with my Sweet Chili Chicken Chops Meal, using their free WiFi connection and chillin' like a villain from all the office work. HAHA.

What I love about this meal is the fact that it's so affordable, but super yummy at the same time! A deep-fried chicken breast fillet with a sweet chili sauce in a bed of hot white rice.

It's low-calorie, delish, and definitely worth the eat!

Ahoy, Chips Ahoy!

Whoever invented this is a GENIUS.

I was so happy when I saw that my mom bought this! Chips Ahoy Reduced Fat in the house! Hooray!

Because Ma knows how much I love my chocolates and cookies, AND she also knows how I freakishly follow my diet and keep a food diary for my calorie intake. HAHA.

She bought me Chips Ahoy Reduced Fat to satisfy my chocolate-chip cookie cravings, without worrying too much on calories and fat! Yipee!

Perf snack for cookie addicts and diet-conscious people like me!

Just can't let go of my chocolate chips!

Dumpin' Dumplings!

For my lunch today, I wanted something light but satisfying.

Sooo, I chose Cobo's Kutchai Dumplings! Three pieces of deep-fried dumplings, stuffed with potatoes, carrots, celery, and other vegetables, wrapped in a crispy dumpling roll.

The best thing about this was it's healthy, since it was packed with vegetables, and it was at a very friendly price!

Love!

Strawberries, Coffee, and Me : The Cafe Coffee Chronicles Part 7

It's one hot work day.

I was taking my lunch break from work and I decided on the very last minute to have some nice cold frappuccino! HAHA.

I was at Cobo and I chose the first frap that caught my eye and my interest. It was Cobo's Strawberry Frappe! The sweet acidity of fresh strawberries ice-blended with your classic bitter coffee, milk, mild sugar, and topped with thick whipped cream.

It was two unusual flavors combined together to form one exceptional and delish frappuccino! I don't regret trying it out!

So good! Strawberries and coffee are now my new fave! ;)

California Shows Pistachios!

One of my newest favorite snacks!

Kirkland's California Pistachios. All-natural, roasted, and salted pistachios grown and harvested with care in the famous California pistachio farms.

The best thing about this is that I can indulge in its salty and crunchy goodness without worrying too much about calories and fats. I absolutely hate the fact that I only bought one pack back at Walmart, since they don't sell this awesome pistachios here in Cebu.

Boohoo. I wanna go back to California and buy a box of these! HAHA.

It's healthy, yummy, and the perf snack for diet freaks like me! ;)

I'm Going Wacko for Choco Wacko!

I've been buying this ever since this flavor came out.

Dunkin Donuts' Choco Wacko has always been one of the my fave snacks and one of the best comfort foods I eat.

For lunch time, I wanted a chocolate rush and I chose to get one Choco Wacko to satisfy that craving. One big moist chocolate doughnut, covered in a thick chocolate coat.

Full chocolate inside and out! Chocogasm. Mmm.

Ready for work afternoon work again! ;)

End the Night with Chocolate!

Before this holiday ends, I chose to indulge myself.

And what better way to end an awesome dinner with some chocolate? HAHA.

I opted for a Choco Fudge shake at Black Pearl. Creamy, rich chocolate fudge shake with chewy black pearls to add some fun!

Super chocolatey, super chocogasm, super thick, and super cheap!

Definitely buying here again!

Go Go Go, Bento!

When you say Japanese food, one of the first things you think about is BENTO.

Here at Rai Rai Ken, they give you a classic and complete Japanese bento box with their Rai Rai Ken Bento!

A bowl of Japanese rice, miso soup, two golden-brown gyozas (fried dumplings), two pieces of crispy chicken lollipops, two pieces of Ebi tempura (shrimp wrapped in flour), beef yakiniku, and stir-fried beansprouts.

It has protein, vegetables, seafood, and carbs all in one bento box. It's a full meal without the high risk of fat, since Japanese food capitalizes on protein-rich food.

One of my fave Japanese cuisine everr!

Japan's Twist on a Crab-Corn Soup.

The continuation of our family dinner out for Election night!

Appetizer number two: Rai Rai Ken's Kani Corn Soup. The classic crab and corn soup with Japanese flavors and cooking-style.

Set in a hotpot, it is yummy broth with sweet corn, strips of kani or crab, celery, thin carrot strips, and finished off with poached egg whites.

What I love about this soup is how savory it is. The sweetness of the corn perfectly balanced out the strong flavors of the crab and broth.

Sooo good!

Healthy Kani!

It's Election Night!

We all had a holiday from our respective jobs, so we decided to eat out for dinner at Rai Rai Ken for some Japanese cuisine.

One of the appetizers we ordered, and personally my favorite kind of salad, was the Kani Salad. It's a big bowl of fresh green lettuce, a whole lot of kani or crab strips, cubes of ripe mangoes, strips of cucumber, mayonnaise, and topped with a generous amount of fish roe.

I absolutely love everything in this salad. The cucumber and mangoes give the light and refreshing acidity to the salad, while the crab strips and fish roe add to that authentic savory Japanese taste.

It's light, citrusy, and definitely one of the best appetizers!

We've Come a Long Way, Fillet.

When you are a student, you have a tight budget. When you are employed, you have an even tighter budget. HAHA.

Since my college days, and until now that I am already employed, I'm still having Mcdonald's Chicken Fillet meal. Because this is what my wallet only allows me to buy for lunch everyday. Lol.

Crispy chicken fillet, with a cup of rice, and hot hot gravy. Enough to give me energy for the day, enough to satisfy my hunger, and enough for my wallet.

Affordable and yummy. Very then student-friendly, now employee-friendly.

More years to come Chicken Fillet! ;)

United Kingdom Has United Chocolates Too : The Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World Part 10

The last flavor, but certainly not the least.

The pride of United Kingdom's gourmet chocolates, established by Joseph William Thornton in 1911, Thornton's Milk Chocolate Praline.

Wrapped in a red wrapper, it is a yummy milk chocolate with hints of hazelnuts and milk, topped with vanilla cream.

Creamy chocolate perfection.

Now it's Spain's turn to show off their gourmet chocolates.

Zahor Caramel Chocolate for the 9th flavor!

Wrapped in a simple gold wrapper, Zahor Caramel Chocolate is a classic milk chocolate piece, filled with sticky and sweet caramel on the inside.

Chocolate and caramel. Who could say no to that combination? ;)

Baci Perugina has been one of the most successful creators of gourmet chocolates in Italy.

With its silver wrapper with blue stars, and unique shape, every piece of Bacio chocolate has a thick dark chocolate coating, filled with milk chocolate ganache with chopped hazelnuts, and topped with what they consider the "heart" of the Bacio chocolate, a whole roasted hazelnut sitting at the top.

Romantic, warm, enticing, and very Italian.

Fall in love with this!

All-American Raspberry : The Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World Part 7

Welcome to the USA!

And for their share of gourmet chocolates, they have the Dilettante Raspberry Truffle Cream. Located at the Pacific Northwest, near Seattle, Washington, Dilettante is an all-American chocolatier creating the most delicious truffles for generations.

Wrapped in a fuchsia wrapper, this rectangular milk chocolate bar has the richness of chocolate with the surprise kick of raspberry!

The fruity and citrus flavor of raspberry compliments the thick milk chocolate flavor. Creating a heavenly contrast for your taste buds!

Belgian Bouchard : The Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World Part 6

Everybody loves Belgian chocolate.

Now for the sixth flavor, Bouchard Grand Marnier Belgian Chocolate exceeds all expectations for a good authentic Belgian chocolate.

Wrapped in a royal blue wrapper, it is a cube-shaped rich Belgian chocolate that melts right into your mouth. It's super creamy, super chocolatey, and super Belgian.

The taste of Belgium in a cube of gourmet chocolate.

CANADA shows off their own gourmet chocolates.

Brockmann Truffini's Milk Chocolate Canadian Maple Truffle. Wrapped in a silver, black, and gold wrapper, it contains a rich milk chocolate combined with natural maple flavor, milk, vanilla, and hints of crushed nuts to add to the crunch.

Canada has absolutely caught my attention with these truffles!

From Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World, the fourth flavor, Swiss Delice Milk Chocolate Truffle.

Another taste of Italy's gourmet chocolates.

From the Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World, I have the third flavor, Stellini Milk Chocolate Vanilla Cream Truffle.

Wrapped in a green and silver wrapper, it is creamy milk chocolate infused with the sweet and unique flavor of vanilla combined with a chocolate ganache.

Italian chocolate at its finest. ;)

Nothing Can Sub a Sub! (California, 2013)

Been window shopping since 9am.

It's lunch time at the Great Mall, and we all decided to go for a sandwich.

And what better sandwich to buy, than a Subway sandwich? HAHA.

Presenting, Subway's Black Forest Ham Sandwich. A oven-fresh foot-long bread, filled to brim with black forest ham, crispy tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and mustard sauce.

All-American sammich right here folks! ;)

Krushin' Rockin' Road!

Mother's Day Sunday!

We went to have our lunch at KFC, and we all got ourselves different flavored KFC Krushers. For me, I chose the tempting-looking Rockin' Road Krushers.

Made with frozen yogurt, mixed with chocolate fudge, chocolate powder, fudge brownie bits, and lots and lots of mini marshmallows!

Creamy and rich Rocky Road goodness in a milkshake! Super chocogasmic experience!

Words are just not enough. ;)

Double Flavored Donut in the House!

Another one of the best donut flavors.

Dunkin Donuts' Chocolate Frosted Doughnut with Bavarian Filling. What I love about this donut is that it combines the two of my fave flavors. One, the moist chocolate doughnut with sugar frosting, and of course the yummy  and creamy bavarian filling inside.

It's definitely getting two awesome tastes in one donut! Yey!

Super super love.

Nuts for Donuts!

It's a donut kind of night.

My mom had bought some donuts from Dunkin Donuts, and naturally, I went ahead and picked the one with chocolate. HAHA.

Presenting, Dunkin Donut's Chocolate Donut with chocolate frosting and rice crispies. I really enjoyed this donut because of the crunch that plays in your mouth from the crispies. Aaaaand, the chocolate was all I needed to provide that sweetness.

Always remember, you can never go wrong with rice crispies!

What else can I say? I'm a kid at heart. ;)

Happy with Banofee!

Okay. I admit.

I have been staring at it since last week. Every single time I pass by Leona Cakes and Pastries, it's all I see. And I've been dying to try it.

Finally, I got my wish today. I had a little more time to spare during my lunch break from work, so I went in Leona Cakes and Pastries, went to the counter, and before I could change my mind, got myself a slice of the  delicious Banofee Pie.

Moist pie crust, filled with sweet slices of bananas covered in thick toffee filling, topped with the most generous amount of cream, chocolate shavings, and caramel sauce.

I swear the whole experience was literally orgasmic in every level. One bite and you get the richness, creaminess, and the unique delectable flavor of banana, toffee, and chocolate. Words can't even begin to describe how good it was.

I'm definitely coming back for more! I might even buy a whole Banofee Pie next time! ;)

Gonna Silvana!

First official work day.

I had been going through orientation and the company's Code of Conduct all morning. So, naturally, when lunch time came, I was starved.

I dropped by JCentre Mall. Again. HAHA.

After my quick fastfood lunch, I still had a bit of time to spare, so I went in Tablea Chocolate Cafe, browsed through their menu, and decided to get myself a light dessert, their Tablea Silvana.

Silvanas are a classic Filipino dessert and delicacy. It is basically a crunchy, frozen, creamy cookie, with a generous layer of buttercream, sandwiched between two cashew-meringue wafers. For the Tablea Silvana, it was finished off with chocolate cookie crumbs.

I loved the light sweetness of their Tablea Silvana! Just the right taste to satisfy your craving for dessert and chocolate, without the overwhelming richness.

Super love!

Bun Sandwich = Bunwich

I've just had my first unofficial work day.

When lunch time rolled around, I wanted to get myself something light and yummy at the same time. So, when I passed by Dunkin Donuts at JCentre Mall, I knew what I was having for lunch.

Dunkin Donuts' classic and an all-time fave of mine, Ham and Cheese Bunwich. Toasted hamburger buns topped with sesame seeds, packed with a slice of seasoned ham and a slice of cheese, and mayonnaise.

It's been one of my comfort foods for so long, and indeed, it comforted my stomach and my nerves. ;)

Witor's Welcomes You with Italian Chocolates : The Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World Part 2

Established in Italy in 1959, Witor's continues to produce the best Italian chocolates.

From Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World, I got a taste of Witor's Dark Noir Chocolates Pralines with Cocoa Nibs.

Wrapped in a gold and black wrapper, its a smooth dark chocolate with a dark chocolate ganache with the cocoa nibs. The cocoa nibs were a fave of mine. They're these little bits of caramelized cocoa, sugar, and wheat syrup really added the crunch on that strong bittersweet flavor of dark chocolate.

Italy and one of it's finest gourmet chocolates!

Thank you, Witor's!

Yves Thuries' Frenched Up Chocolates : The Kirkland Signature Chocolates of the World Part 1

Yves Thuries is a famous French pastry chef who creates one of the best chocolates worldwide.

Under that blue foil wrapper is a round creamy milk chocolate ball with a smooth chocolate ganache with the nutty and exciting contrasts of the hints of hazelnuts, sesame seeds, and other nuts with shells.

Merci, Yves Thuries!
